Notes
  • Experiment
Mapping of Gpx2 in a panel of backcross mice positioned it between D12Mit4 (34 cM) and D12Mit5 (37 cM) on mouse Chromosome 12. Gpx2 is in the vicinity of the colon cancer susceptibility locus Ccs1 (38 cM). Analysis of Ccs1 tumor susceptibility showed strongest linkage to D12Mit6 (45 cM), D12Mit46 (16 cM), and D12Mit4/D12Mit5. Fos (40 cM) was excluded as a candidate gene for Ccs1 due to recombination between this gene and tumor susceptibility. Gpx2 shows possible linkage to tumor susceptibility with P<0.002.
