    The Gja8Lop10 mutation was mapped in a (BALB/cJ-Gja8Lop10 x CAST/Ei)F1 x BALB/cJ backcross involving 89 animals. Whole genome scan was performed. The mutation mapped to mouse Chromosome 3 between D3Mit11 (49 cM) and D3Mit288 (58.8 cM). Gja8 showed tight linkage to D3Mit122 (52.5 cM) as no recombinations were found bewteen these markers. Thus the order of genes is reported as follows:
