Caption Iris phenotype of Foxf2W174R/Foxf2+ mice. The iris in wild-type mice (+/+) consists of a robust upper stromal layer (arrowhead) and a lower pigmented epithelium (arrow). The stroma in three heterozygous Foxf2W174R/Foxf2+ (m/+) mice is flattened or atrophic. The bottom image shows variable thickness across the iris tissue in both stromal and epithelial layers. Scale bar = 40 um.
