Caption Mice homozygous for this autosomal recessive mutation (Ass1fold/Ass1fold) have a smaller body size then that of the littermate controls, have a lack of visible hair at one week of age, wrinkled skin by two weeks of age and a sparse looking coat by three weeks of age. Fold/Fold mice have a short lifespan dying at about three weeks of age. Shown here is a one week old Ass1fold/Ass1fold mouse on the right with littermate control on the left.
