Caption Osteopenia in Pkd1tm1Ggg/Pkd1tm2Ggg Tg(Col1a1-cre)1Bek/0 (Col1a1(3.6)-Cre;Pkd1flox/null) newborn mice but not in Pkd1tm2Ggg/Pkd1tm2Ggg Tg(Col1a1-cre)1Bek/0 (Col1a1(3.6)-Cre;Pkd1flox/flox) newborns. The whole skeleton mineralization (A and B), full-length mineralized femurs (C and D), bone volume of metaphyseal region (E and F), and cortical thickness of cortical bone (G and H) of femurs from Tg(Col1a1-cre)1Bek/0 Pkd1tm2Ggg/Pkd1tm2Ggg (Col1a1(3.6)-Cre;Pkd1flox/flox) and Tg(Col1a1-cre)1Bek/0 Pkd1tm1Ggg/Pkd1tm2Ggg (Col1a1(3.6)-Cre;Pkd1flox/null) newborn mice by microCT analysis. A Pkd1 gene dose effect was observed during skeletogenesis between Tg(Col1a1-cre)1Bek/0 Pkd1tm2Ggg/Pkd1tm2Ggg and Tg(Col1a1-cre)1Bek/0 Pkd1tm1Ggg/Pkd1tm2Ggg mice. Data represent the mean +/- S.D. from three to four individual samples. *Significant difference from control mice at P<0.05.
