Phenotype Image Detail
Image
Caption Electron micrograph of hepatocytes from the liver of an 8 month old Acox1tm1Jkr/Acox1tm1Jkr mouse (A), compared with that of a wild-type mouse (B). Liver was processed for the cytochemical localization of catalase using 3,3'-diaminobenzidine medium. Note the presence of numerous catalase positive peroxisomes (P) with urate oxidase crystalloid inclusions in the mutant mouse hepatocytes. In contrast, hepatocytes in wild-type mice (A) reveal the presence of a few peroxisomes (P).
