Origin: A breeder in W Germany to Hannover in 1980, to Kyoto in 1983. Carries rcessive autosomal gene "zitter" which causes spongiform encephalopathy of the central nervous system with tremors at 15 days of age as well as curley whiskers and hair (Yamada et al 1989). \par
