Mutation details: A targeting vector composed of a 1.2 kb fragment of murine Nkx6-2 containing Ret exons 12 and 13 flanked by loxP sites upstream of an frt-flanked neomycin cassette was generated from a BAC clone containing the Ret gene. The vector was incorporated into E14 ES cells for homologous recombination. Two indepent recombined clones were identified and germline transmission was verified by PCR.
