p^m1 and p^m2 have identical effects. When heterozygous with p, the coat consists of wild-type and typically p colored hairs intermingled in about equal proportions. Segregation is normal. p^m1 and p^m2 may act by producing wild-type pigment in some cells and p pigment in others at random (J:29504).
