N normal phenotype
nervous system
• mice injected with cre-expressing virus at P20 exhibit increased spontaneous firing rates in the layer 2/3 pyramidal neurons compared with control mice
• however, mice injected with cre-expressing virus and subjected to 2 days of monocular deprivation exhibit normal firing rates
• 4 or 10-12 days after injection with cre-expressing virus at P18-20 into a few dozen neurons, intrinsic excitability is response to current is increased compared to in control mice
• 10-12 days after sparse injection with cre-expressing virus, mEPSC frequency, but not amplitude, is decreased compared to in control mice
• however, response 4 days after injection is normal
