mortality/aging
• homozygotes are viable throughout embryogenesis and at E18.5; however, no homozygotes are recovered by P11

growth/size/body
• at E18.5, homozygotes are markedly smaller than wild-type controls
• body size is significantly reduced at E13.5 and E14.5
• at E13.5 and E14.5, homozygotes are developmentally delayed by 1 day relative to wild-type controls, as noted by eye pigmentation and limb development

limbs/digits/tail
• at E14.5, limb development is delayed relative to that in wild-type controls

nervous system
N
• at E18.5, brain size is proportionally reduced relative to body length, suggesting that brain development is largely normal
• although cortical thickness, number of TBR2+ intermediate neural progenitors, and thickness of the TUJ1+ neuronal layer are reduced at E14.5, these differences are largely due to developmental delay, as E14.5 values are similar to those in E13.5 wild-type brains
• no significant apoptosis is noted in the cortex at E14.5
