behavior/neurological
• mice develop motor paralysis/motor neuron disease; disease onset is on average 367 and 350 days in males and females, respectively
• duration of disease is on average 38 and 52 days in males and females, respectively
• however, mice show normal performance on the rotarod up to 42 weeks of age

nervous system
• slight increase in activation of astrocytes is seen in the spinal cords of 40 week old mice
• by 66 weeks of age, mice exhibit a similar level of microglia and astrocyte activation in the spinal cord as in 40 week old Tg(SOD1*H46R)LAra mice
• a slight increase in activation of microglia is seen in the spinal cords of 40 week old mice
• by 66 weeks of age, mice exhibit a similar level of microglia and astrocyte activation in the spinal cord as in 40 week old Tg(SOD1*H46R)LAra mice
• by 66 weeks of age, mice exhibit spinal motor neuron degeneration

hematopoietic system
• a slight increase in activation of microglia is seen in the spinal cords of 40 week old mice
