endocrine/exocrine glands
• at 6-8 weeks of age, Western blot analysis revealed that chromogranin B (CgB) protein levels in the adrenal medulla are reduced to 47.3% of wild-type levels
• in contrast, adrenal chromogranin A, and secretogranin II and III levels are not significantly altered
• at 6-8 weeks of age, the mean size of norepinephrine-containing large dense core vesicles (LDCVs) is reduced relative to wild-type adrenal chromaffin cells, and the relative number of smaller LDCVs is increased
• however, the mean number of norepinephrine-containing LDCVs per square micrometer of cytoplasm in adrenal chromaffin cells is unaffected

homeostasis/metabolism
• epinephrine content is significantly increased in mutant adrenal glands relative to wild-type controls
• in contrast, cardiac muscle epinephrine levels are not significantly elevated
• plasma epinephrine levels are significantly increased relative to wild-type controls
• norepinephrine content is significantly increased in mutant adrenal glands relative to wild-type controls
• in contrast, plasma and cardiac muscle norepinephrine levels are not significantly elevated

nervous system
• at 6-8 weeks of age, the mean size of norepinephrine-containing large dense core vesicles (LDCVs) is reduced relative to wild-type adrenal chromaffin cells, and the relative number of smaller LDCVs is increased
• however, the mean number of norepinephrine-containing LDCVs per square micrometer of cytoplasm in adrenal chromaffin cells is unaffected

cardiovascular system
• homozygotes are hypertensive
• homozygotes display a significant increase in MAP relative to wild-type controls
• however, the heart rate is not significantly altered
• homozygotes display a significant increase in diastolic blood pressure (DBP) relative to wild-type controls
• homozygotes display a significant increase in systolic blood pressure (SBP) relative to wild-type controls
