• mice begin to develop leukemia at 3-4 months of age
• tumor development penetrance is 97%
• 8% of mice develop myeloid leukemia
• 4% of mice develop B-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia
• 50% of mice develop T-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia
• mice that develop T-cell leukemia die within 400 days; most die before the occurrence of B-cell tumors
• B and T leukemic cells infiltrate into bone marrow, spleen, thymus, lymph nodes, and frequently nonhematopoietic organs such as liver and lung

hematopoietic system
