endocrine/exocrine glands
• when cre-expressing adenovirus is introduced under the bursa, 72% of ovaries exhibit cytologic abnormalities in the ovarian surface epithelium
• 27% of mice injected with cre-expressing adenovirus under the bursa develop minimal to mild atypical hyperplasia with occasional papillary epithelial projections 3 to 24 months postinduction
• mice injected with cre-expressing adenovirus under the bursa develop ovarian surface epithelium proliferation with progression only to stage I of ovarian cancer
• 27% of mice injected with cre-expressing adenovirus under the bursa develop ovarian surface epithelium carcinoma in situ with no invasion into the underlying ovary or overlying bursa
• 18% of mice injected with cre-expressing adenovirus under the bursa exhibit ovarian tumors that progress to serous epithelial ovarian cancer pathology with early invasion into ovary and bursa
