reproductive system
• at 17-21 months of age many of the large antral follicles contain unhealthy looking irregular shaped oocytes
• at 20 months of age ovaries contain follicles at various developmental stages and corpora lutea, unlike wild-type females that lack follicles by this age
• many of the aged ovaries display preovulatory-like follicles that are not seen in age-matched wild-type females
• about 2 fold higher at 15 months of age
• about 2 fold and 3 fold higher at 6 and 15 months of age, respectively
• about 2 fold higher number of secondary follicles at 15 months of age
• 88% of ovaries from 17-21 month old females still have large antral follicles with oocytes compared to only 33% of controls
• about 2 fold higher number of antral follicles at 15 months of age
• impaired regulation of follicle degeneration and apoptosis
• significant reduction of pyknosis in the antral follicles at 6 months of age
• hypertrophy of uterine tissue at 20 months of age
• oocytes could be retrieved following superovulation of 15 month old females unlike in age-matched wild-type females
• significantly prolonged leading to an increase in the duration of the estrous cycle
• 18% of females are able to get pregnant at 12-16 months of age but are unable to deliver viable pups

cellular
• at 17-21 months of age many of the large antral follicles contain unhealthy looking irregular shaped oocytes
• MEFs are resistant to doxorubicin and H2O2 induced apoptosis (J:208406)
• decrease in levels of cleaved caspase-3 in the estrus phase in 2 month old mice (J:208406)
• significant reduction of pyknosis in the antral follicles at 6 months of age (J:208406)
• granulosa cells are resistant to TNF induced apoptosis (J:208406)

homeostasis/metabolism
• MEFs are resistant to doxorubicin and H2O2 induced apoptosis

endocrine/exocrine glands
