• stroma is disorganized with areas of thickening and hyperplasia and does not form a tight layer of smooth muscle around the epithelial ducts
• increase in numbers of SynP-expressing cells in the basal compartment of the prostate glands, indicating a neuroendocrine phenotype
• epithelium of prostatic ducts is disorganized and contains numerous rounded cytokeratin+ cells that are not tightly associated with the basement membrane
• some of the ducts lack an epithelial lining
• epithelium of prostatic ducts is disorganized and contains numerous rounded cytokeratin+ cells that are not tightly associated with the basement membrane
• all four lobes of the prostate are smaller in size
