Sema4ctm1Matl mutation (0 available); any Sema4c mutation (36 available)
phenotype observed in females
phenotype observed in males
N normal phenotype
mortality/aging
• mice with exencephaly die shortly after first

nervous system
• migration of granule cell precursors (GCPs) out of an explant is reduced compared to in wild-type explants
• however, GCP migration in a transwell assay with stromal cell line-derived factor-1alpha (SDF-1alpha) or brain derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF) is normal
• 50% of mice exhibit gaps in the granule layer of lobule II unlike wild-type mice
• 60% of mice exhibit ectopic granule cells in the molecular layer at subpilial positions unlike wild-type mice
• 80% of mice exhibit rostral lobules VIII and IX fusion with disruption of the basal lamina at the site of fusion unlike in wild-type mice
• in one third of mice

pigmentation
• white patches along the ventral midline

integument
• white patches along the ventral midline

cellular
• migration of granule cell precursors (GCPs) out of an explant is reduced compared to in wild-type explants
• however, GCP migration in a transwell assay with stromal cell line-derived factor-1alpha (SDF-1alpha) or brain derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF) is normal

renal/urinary system
N
• mice show normal kidney morphology and a normal response to kidney ischemia/reperfusion injury
