mortality/aging
• 80% of mice die within the first 48 hours after birth

nervous system
• 29% lower than in wild-type mice at P90
• at P90, the neuronal cell density in the cortex is greater than in wild-type mice
• at P90, mice exhibit cortical shrinkage compared with wild-type mice
• mice exhibit impaired axonal maturation in the central and peripheral nervous system compared with wild-type mice
• at P30 and P365, the thickness of myelin sheaths is reduced compared to in wild-type mice
• however, differentiation of oligodendrocytes is normal
• at P30 and P365, the nerves in the Remak bundles of the sciatic nerve is two-fold more than in wild-type mice
• mice exhibit hypomyelination of axons in the cortex, hippocampus, and corpus callosum compared with wild-type mice
• mice exhibit delayed initiation of myelination and hypomyelination in the central and peripheral nervous system
• at P14, only one seventh of axons are myelinated unlike in wild-type mice
• at P90, only 21% of axons are myelinated unlike in wild-type mice
• however, differentiation of oligodendrocytes is normal

behavior/neurological
• mice exhibit reduced correct choices in a forced-alternation task compared with wild-type mice
• however, reference memory is normal
• in a beam test, mice move slower and slip more frequently than wild-type mice
• mice exhibit reduced latency to fall on a rotarod compared with wild-type mice
• mice exhibit reduced grip strength compared with wild-type mice
• however, mice exhibit normal behavior in a wire-hanging test

growth/size/body
• 30% less than wild-type mice
• surviving mice remain smaller than wild-type mice
