mortality/aging
• 70% of mice die by 3 weeks of age

adipose tissue
• in testicular and ovarian white adipose tissue fat pad
• in white adipose tissue fat pad
• in white adipose tissue fat pad
• interscapular, inguinal, testicular, ovarian, and intraperitoneal white adipose fat pads are reduced in weight compared to in wild-type mice
• however, interscapular brown adipose tissue depots are normal
• white adipose tissue resembles brown adipose tissue with small-sized, unilocular adipocytes with many multilocular appearing cells unlike in wild-type mice
• white adipose tissue differentiation of preadipocytes is deficient in vivo
• however, in vitro preadipocyte differentiation is normal
• neonates and adults exhibit decreased white adipose tissue mass compared to in wild-type mice despite normal suckling, food intake, and nutrient absorption
• mice lack white adipose tissue in the interscapular and inguinal depots and have smaller than normal testicular and ovarian depots

growth/size/body
• at P5, mice are runted despite normal suckling

liver/biliary system
• at P5, the liver is yellow in appearance due to excessive lipid accumulation unlike in wild-type mice
• however, after weaning liver lipid content is normal

homeostasis/metabolism
• 12% higher than in wild-type mice
