immune system
• there is a decreased percentage of alpha-beta T cells expressing T Cell receptors (TCR) that are partially encoded Vbeta5 or Vbeta8 gene segments
• in T cells, complete VbetaDJbeta exon rearrangement occurs more frequently (69%) on the Tcrbtm1(Tcrb)Chb allele than on the Tcrbtm1Slek allele (31%)
• sequencing of T cell hybridomas suggest there is both an increase in rearrangements on the Tcrbtm1(Tcrb)Chb allele and a preferential selection of thymocytes with in-frame VbetaDJbeta rearrangements on this allele
• the frequency of DN3 thymocytes is slightly decreased while the frequency of DN4 thymocytes is slightly increased
• frequency of CD8+ T cells in the spleen is slightly decreased
• there is an increased frequency of single-positive thymocytes (both CD4+ and CD8+)
