limbs/digits/tail
• deformed limbs at birth
• at E13.5, increased cell density is seen in the anterior and posterior limb bud mesenchyme corresponding to areas of transgene expression and cell proliferation in the posterior mesechyme is increased
• at E14.5 these excess cells aggregate and for an extra postaxial nubbin
• short and broad digits 1 and 5 on the fore and hind limbs
• short and broad digits 1 and 5 on the fore and hind limbs
• a post axial nubbin is present on the hindlimbs
• skeletal preparations show pre and post axial polydactyly
• after 2 weeks of age mice walk with the backside of their forelimbs facing down towards the ground
• very short limbs at birth

skeleton
• the chondrogenic mesenchymal condensation of the ulna is larger resulting in formation of a short but large cartilage primordia of the ulna
• delayed endochondral bone formation is seen in the humerus, ulna, radius, and digits 1 and 5 at birth

embryo
• at E13.5, increased cell density is seen in the anterior and posterior limb bud mesenchyme corresponding to areas of transgene expression and cell proliferation in the posterior mesechyme is increased
• at E14.5 these excess cells aggregate and for an extra postaxial nubbin
