cellular
• tamoxifen treated mice exhibit increased cell proliferation in colonic epithelium that is accompanied by increased apoptosis unlike in similarly treated wild-type mice
• tamoxifen treated mice exposed to subapoptotic levels of doxorubicin exhibit increased apoptosis in the pancreas, liver and colon unlike similarly treated wild-type mice
• tamoxifen treated mice exhibit increased cell proliferation 3 days after treatment in the skin, spleen, exocrine pancreas, endocrine pancreas, kidney, liver and lung with proliferation remaining elevated 6 days after treatment in the pancreatic islets, kidney and lungs unlike in similarly treated wild-type or heterozygous mice
• tamoxifen treated mice exhibit increased cell proliferation in colonic epithelium that is accompanied by increased apoptosis unlike in similarly treated wild-type mice
• however, the level of cell proliferation in muscle (skeletal and cardiac) and brain is normal
