• >60% of slices show epileptiform activity following low intensity stimulation compared to <40% of wild-type
• very low concentration kainic acid (KA) stimulation of hippocampal slices produces maximal CA3 population spike amplitude and higher concentrations induces severe epileptiform activity, reducing amplitude of the population response
