immune system
N
• mice produce normal levels of serum immunoglobulins and show no increased level of spontaneous infection when housed in non-pathogen-free conditions
• myeloid clls from bone marrow show increased sensitivity to apoptosis-inducing stimuli and decreased survival ability under limiting cytokine conditions compared to wild-type
• increased frequency of mature granulocytes in bone marrow of mutants compared to wild-type
• increased frequency (3-fold) of granulocytic cluster-forming cells bone marrow culture stimulated with G-CSF
• after 5-fluorouracil ablation of proliferating bone marrow precursors, mature peripheral blood and splenic granulocyes recover to higher levels than in wild-type by 14 days post-treatment, and increased numbers of granulocyte cluster-forming cells are found in bone marrow and spleen
• in vitro stimulation with LPS results in resting B lymphocytes re-entering the cell cycle more rapidly than wild-type cells
