• mice exhibit normal general behavior, exploration behavior, anxiety-related behaviors, locomotion, circadian rhythms and spatial working memory
• after 48 hours, but not after 2 hours, retention delay contextual freezing response is reduced compared to wild-type mice
• long term, but not short term, memory in fear conditioning is impaired
• after 48 hours retention delay, the cued freezing response is reduced
• in a Morris water maze, mice exhibit increased latency to escape compared to wild-type mice on days 2 through 7 and 9 but not after day 10
• in an 8 by 8 version of the 8-arm radial maze, mice require a longer training phase up to day 5 and mice create more revisiting errors on days 2 through 4 compared to wild-type mice
• in a 4 by 8 version of the 8-arm radial maze, mice score lower than wild-type in relation to reference memory correct choices and higher in relation to reference memory error scores
• mice use a spatial search strategy rather than a nonspatial serial searching strategy
• however, working memory and motivation in the 4 by 8 version of the 8-arm radial maze is unaffected
• while spatial working memory is normal, reference memory is impaired
