• B cells are slightly larger than wild-type
• some mice expressing transgene at high levels show substantial reduction in B lymphocytes in all peripheral tissues; some mice exhibit a severe reduction in number in spleen with an increase in number the lymph nodes
• numbers of CD4+ T cells are increased in the spleen but not in lymph nodes of mice; an increased fraction of and T cells are CD44hi
• numbers of CD8+ T cells are increased in the spleen but not in lymph nodes of mice; an increased fraction of CD8+ cells are CD44hi
