• AMPA receptor currents desensitize faster and have a smaller steady-state component than wild-type
• 29-fold increase relative to wild-type in fractional calcium currents (Pf values) of AMPA receptors in CA1 pyramidal cells at a membrane potential of -60 mV, however never observe seizures
