• flash responses from dark-adapted rods are larger and slower than responses from wild-type rods (J:83914)
• mean single photon response amplitude of rods is nearly 5 times larger than in wild-type and the integration time of rod flash responses was 2.5-fold longer than that of wild-type (J:83914)
• flash sensitivity of rods is about 6 times higher and the flash strength required to elicit a half-maximal response is about 8-fold lower (J:83914)
• rod responses display broad rounded peaks lacking the rapid phase or recovery that typically follows the peak in responses of wild-type (J:83914)
• the incremental flash sensitivity of rods fails to be maintained at wild-type levels in bright steady light (J:83914)
• the value of the circulating current in darkness is somewhat larger than that in wild-type rods (J:166744)
• when dark adapted rods are exposed to prolonged steps of light of varying duration the initial rapid decrease in circulating current seen in wild-type rods is absent but a slower current increase is seen and the turning off of light produces a transient overshoot (J:166744)
