skeleton
• broader at the posterior end and in most homozygotes, incomplete neural arches are fused to it
• the occipital condyles of the exoccipital bone are not well developed
• occasionally, the supraoccipital bone is broader
• R1 and R2 are fused unilaterally in 28% and bilaterally in 35% of mice
• anterior homeotic transformation of vertebrae, with the first vertebra developing into a more anterior structure, the basioccipital bone, and subsequent vertebrae up to the posterior thoracic ones assuming anterior identities; penetrance varies somewhat with background

craniofacial
• broader at the posterior end and in most homozygotes, incomplete neural arches are fused to it
• the occipital condyles of the exoccipital bone are not well developed
• occasionally, the supraoccipital bone is broader

embryo
• hematopoietic progenitor formation is reduced in cells derived from day 6 erythroid bodies
• but no impairment in yolk sac hematopoiesis is detected

hematopoietic system
• hematopoietic progenitor formation is reduced in cells derived from day 6 erythroid bodies
• but no impairment in yolk sac hematopoiesis is detected
