cellular
• testes and ovaries had similar numbers of primordial germ cells (PGCs) as wild-type, E12.5
• progressive reduction of PGCs, E13.5-E15.5
• testes had 85% fewer PGCs relative to wild-type, E14.5
• ovaries had 58% fewer PGCs than wild-type, E13.5
• increased apoptosis of gonocytes observed in both ovaries and testes at E13.5

endocrine/exocrine glands
• 94% fewer primordial follicles at 9 days of age than controls
• decreased size due to an absence of spermatogonia, spermatocytes, and spermatids form the seminiferous tubules, however seminal vesicles and accessory glands were normal

reproductive system
• testes and ovaries had similar numbers of primordial germ cells (PGCs) as wild-type, E12.5
• progressive reduction of PGCs, E13.5-E15.5
• testes had 85% fewer PGCs relative to wild-type, E14.5

• 94% fewer primordial follicles at 9 days of age than controls
• decreased size due to an absence of spermatogonia, spermatocytes, and spermatids form the seminiferous tubules, however seminal vesicles and accessory glands were normal
• approximately 25% of females were fertile
• fertile females never gave birth to more than 3 pups
