• marked increase in the number of mature CD8+ cells that abnormally express CD4 is seen in the thymus and spleen
• in the spleen the increase in these cells is even larger than in Runx3tm1Yg homozygotes
• the ratio of Itgae+ to Itgae- splenocytes is increased about 9 fold compared to wild-type mice; however for thymocytes this ratio is similar to wild-type
