• following LPS-induced proliferation of spleen cells, the number of IgM plaque forming cells is reduced but overall proliferation is similar to wild-type (J:49168)
• fewer IgM producing cells are found in the lamina propria and Peyer's patches; however, the number of IgA producing cells is similar to wild-type and no change is detected in the formation of germinal centers in Peyer's patches (J:56158)
• inefficient activation of complement by serum IgM
• accumulation of Ig is seen in LPS-stimulated spleen cells suggesting a defect in assembly or secretion of Ig
