homeostasis/metabolism
• liver basal levels of Cyp3a11 are increased about 4-fold and Cyp7a1 levels are decreased about 2-fold
• treatment with pregnenolone-16alpha-carbonitrile (PCN) fails to induce Cyp3a11 and Slco1a4 or repress Cyp7a1 expression, unlike in wild-type mice
• treatment with PCN fails to protect homozygotes from lithocholic acid-induced hepatotoxicity
• homozygotes do not develop PCN-induced hepatomegaly

behavior/neurological
• homozygotes are paralyzed for a shorter time (6 min) after zoxazolamine treatment compared to wild-type mice (26 min); however, PCN-treatment has no effect on the length of time mutants are paralyzed unlike in wild-type mice where PCN treatment decreases paralysis time to 2 min
