immune system
• normal medullary and corical zone morphology despite reduced size
• cell number in the thymus is reduced to 10% of normal mice
• in the thymus, the ratios of CD4 to CD8 cells were slightly increased with the absolute percentages of these cells similar to controls
• in the spleen, the ratios are normal, despite an overall absolute reduction of T cells by 80%
• CBC of 1.50 x 103 WBC/l at 8 weeks of age (J:82961)
• retesting at 10 weeks of age confirmed leukopenia, with 2.51 x 103 WBC/l (J:82961)
• nonfasted WBC is 1.5 x 103 WBC/l (J:118450)
• 80% reduction in the absolute number of T cells in the spleen, suggesting defects in T cell proliferation and expansion
• grossly normal architecture despite small size
• cell number in the spleen is reduced to 40% of normal mice
• detectable, but markedly reduced in size
