cellular
• the number of apoptotic thymic epithelial cells after activation of thymocytes is significantly lower in mutant mice compared to wild-type mice

hematopoietic system
• decrease in thymus size, accumulation of a fatty substance, loss of defined cortico-medullary structure, or disruptive rearrangement of the T cell receptor are not seen in mutant mice as they age, indicating that normal thymic involution does not occur
• progressive enlargement of the spleen is seen
• titers of total IgM, total IgG, anti-DNA IgM and anti-DNA IgG are increased

immune system
• decrease in thymus size, accumulation of a fatty substance, loss of defined cortico-medullary structure, or disruptive rearrangement of the T cell receptor are not seen in mutant mice as they age, indicating that normal thymic involution does not occur
• progressive enlargement of the spleen is seen
• titers of total IgM, total IgG, anti-DNA IgM and anti-DNA IgG are increased
• progressive enlargement of the lymph nodes is seen
• overall homozygous mutants display the same lymphoproliferative disease as Tnfrsf6lpr mice

endocrine/exocrine glands
• decrease in thymus size, accumulation of a fatty substance, loss of defined cortico-medullary structure, or disruptive rearrangement of the T cell receptor are not seen in mutant mice as they age, indicating that normal thymic involution does not occur

growth/size/body
• progressive enlargement of the spleen is seen
