phenotype observed in females
phenotype observed in males
N normal phenotype
mortality/aging
• 54% of mice live less than 36 weeks
• more than 50% of female mice develop fatal thrombotic complications within 10 days of delivery
• fewer than expected mice survive to weaning

homeostasis/metabolism
• plasma levels of coagulation factor IX are increased compared to in wild-type mice
• plasma levels of coagulation factor XI are increased compared to in wild-type mice
• plasma levels of coagulation factor VIII are increased compared to in wild-type mice
• TAT (thrombin-antithrombin) levels are increased compared to in wild-type mice
• plasma levels of coagulation factors VIII, IX, and XI are increased compared to in wild-type mice
• either before particle depletion without phospholipids or after particle-depletion with phospholipids, conditioned media from embryonic fibroblast cultures exhibits increased coagulant activity compared to media from wild-type cells
• mice exhibit widespread intravascular fibrin deposition unlike wild-type mice
• activated partial thromboplastin time is shortened compared to in wild-type mice
• more than 50% of female mice develop fatal thrombotic complications within 10 days of delivery
• mice that die prematurely exhibit dilation and obstruction by a large white mass in the left superior vena cava, left jugular vein, inferior vena cava, coronary vein, right heart, aorta/aortic arch, pulmonary atrioles, and/or pulmonary artery often accompanied by calcium deposits and leukocyte infiltrates unlike in wild-type mice
• at E17.5, mice occasionally exhibit minimal fibrinogen deposition in the heart and/or liver unlike in wild-type mice
