involves: 102 * C3H/He * T STOCK
Find Mice Using the International Mouse Strain Resource (IMSR)
Mouse lines carrying:
CrygsOpj mutation (2 available); any Crygs mutation (42 available)
phenotype observed in females
phenotype observed in males
N normal phenotype

Progressive cataract development in CrygsOpj/Crygs+ and CrygsOpj/CrygsOpj mice

vision/eye
• tangled fibrous masses are seen in the lenses
• swelling and disorganization in the cortical fibers is seen at early stages
• a sharp, distorted boundary between the outer cortical fiber layer and the inner layer is seen
• fiber maturation is disrupted, with loss of nuclei not occuring in a timely fashion, leaving particles in the inner layers of fiber cells
• total opacity (J:34877)
• progressive with age and more severe than in heterozygote (J:68109)
