Mutation details: This transgene consists of the human keratin 14 promoter, intron 2 of the rabbit beta-globin gene, the complete early region and parts of the noncoding region and the E6 and E7 genes of human papillomavirus type 28 (HPV38), and keratin 14 polyadenylation sequence. The keratin 14 promoter drives expression of the transgene in basal cells of the squamous epithelium.
