Mutation details: The transgene consists of mouse BAC RP24-149I12 where leucine codon 280 (CTT) in exon 5 was changed to serine (TCA) (p.L280S). The mutation is located at L9' in the second transmembrane region of the encoded peptide and affects its acetylcholine and nicotine affinities. The BAC also contains the Chrnb3 gene, which was disabled through the insertion of an ampicillin cassette at the start codon.
