Mutation details: A Dlx1 brain enhancer, located ~12 kb upstream, was used to drive expression of beta-galactosidase (downstream of a human beta-globin minimal promoter). In embryos, the reporter is expressed in the forebrain (subpallial telencephalon, prethalamus, hypothalamus), hyoid arch, somites and limb apical ectodermal ridge.
