Mutation details: The transgene consists of an 8.5-kb fragment of mouse Ins1 promoter (Ins1; nucleotides -8.5 kb to +12 bp relative to the transcriptional start site), a cDNA for rtTA, and a polyadenylation signal. Five lines (1-5) were generated with similar expression patterns. The pound symbol (#) is used when no line is specified and/or lines are pooled. Mouse Ins1 promoter shows high specificity in pancreatic betacells without leakage in the brain.
