Strain of Origin:  C57BL/6
Mutation
description
Allele Type:    Endonuclease-mediated (Null/knockout)
Mutations:    Intergenic deletion, Intragenic deletion

Mutation detailsUsing CRISPR/Cas9 technology with a promiscuous sgRNA that binds to multiple cluster members, the following cluster members were wholly or partially deleted: Klra11-ps (5' end), Klra8 and Klra14-ps (3' end) (~66 kb deletion); Klra7 (5' end), Klra10, Klra13-ps, Klra3 and Klra1 (3' end) (~149 kb deletion). Flow cytometry confirmed the loss of expression from the protein coding genes. Expression of Klra4, which is not deleted, was significantly decreased, suggesting the deletions encompass locus control region sequences. (J:295190)
