Mutation details: The BAC RP23-20F21 was used to sequentially targeted Hoxa9, and Hoxa10. In each gene a kan/neo cassette flanked by once only lox66 and lox71 was introduced into exon 1. This insertion introduced a small deletion/frameshift. In Hoxa9 the selection cassette was removed by cre mediated recombination before targeting of the subsequent gene. Thus only Hoxa10 retains the selection cassette in the final targeting vector and this was removed after targeting by cre mediated recombination.
