Mutation details: In this trasngene construct, a rat Fabp1 promoter fragment (nt -596 to +21) drives the expression of a 1103-bp a-1,3/4-fucosyltransferase human cDNA which includes a 1086-nt coding region specifying the 361-aa type II transmembrane glycoprotein, an upstream Kozak consensus sequence and HindIII site, and a downstream Not I recognition site. A founder male was used to establish a line of mice that contained three copies of the transgene per haploid genome.
