description
Allele Type:    Targeted (Hypomorph, Modified regulatory region, Reporter)
Mutations:    Insertion, Intragenic deletion

Mutation detailsThe starting point was allele Hhextm1Jomb which is constructed as follows. The following elements were inserted into exon 1 after the ATG start codon: the DsRed.T3 (enhanced T3 variant of Red Fluorescent Protein, also called RedStar) gene, an IRES, a blasticidin resistance gene (BSD), a polyA signal and a loxP site flanked hygromycin resistance gene cassette. From this allele the blood enhancer element (Rr137) in intron 1 was deleted. The hygro cassette was removed through subsequent cre-mediated recombination. Fluorescence microscopy and FACS analysis confirms the lack of expression from this allele in the hematopoietic system. (J:241018)

Notes
Clones HBD-7.5 and HBD-18.1 were selected for injection into blastocysts to generate the HBD mouse line. It is not specified which of these was, or if both were, used for experiments.
