description
Transgene Type:    Transgenic (Recombinase, Reporter)
Mutation:    Insertion

Tg(Cdh5-cre,-GFP)21Msri expression driven by 1 gene

Mutation detailsMice with this transgene express Cre recombinase under the control of the regulatory sequences of mouse cadherin 5 (also called vascular endothelial cadherin) residing between ~2500 base pairs upstream of the translation initiation codon and the middle of the first intron, wherein resides an enhancer sequence. The Cre coding sequence is followed by an internal ribosomal entry site and sequence encoding green fluorescent protein (GFP). At embryonic day (E) 10.5, embryos bearing both this transgene and a lacZ- expressing Cre reporter exhibit beta-galactosidase activity/immunoreactivity in the intersomitic vessels, endocardium, aorta, fetal liver, yolk sac, and umbilical and vitelline arteries. In the E11.5-E12.5 placenta, activity is observed in the umbilical artery and primarily in the large vessels, rather than the labyrinth, of the chorionic plate. (J:198989)
