A third loxP site is inserted downstream of the targeted exons 5, 6 and 7. A "conditional ready" (floxed) allele was created by flp recombinase expression in mice carrying the parental allele, removing lacZ and neo and first loxP site and leaving single FRT site in intron 4 and loxP flanked exons 5, 6 and 7.
