Strain of Origin:  C57BL/6 or FVB/N
Transgene
description
Transgene Type:    Transgenic (Inducible, Inserted expressed sequence, Reporter)
Inducer:    doxycycline/tetracycline
Mutation:    Insertion

Tg(tetO-Gja1,-EGFP)L11Kwi expresses 1 gene

Mutation detailsThe transgene contains the tetracycline response element, comprising seven copies of the tetracycline operator (tetO) sequence, flanked on each side by a cytomegalovirus (CMV) minimal promoter and the coding sequence for either gap junction protein, alpha 1 (Gja1, also called Cx43) or enhanced green fluorescent protein (EGFP), each followed by the beta-globin insulator sequence. Expression of the tetracycline transactivator from a second transgene result in the expression of both Gja1 and the EGFP reporter. (J:82809, J:130466)
