Mutation details: This transgene contains a tetracycline responsive element, comprising seven tandem copies of the tetracycline operator (tetO), driving bidirectional expression of beta-galactosidase (from the lacZ gene) with a nuclear localization signal and of a green fluorescent protein/rat glutamate receptor, ionotropic, AMPA2 (alpha 2) (GFP/Gria2) fusion protein; the GFP coding sequence is preceded by the signal sequence of the Drosophila cuticle protein C3 and the Myc epitope tag.

The transgenic construct was microinjected into the pronuclei of oocytes obtained from either "DBA1/C57Bl/6 F1 hybrids" ( J:103689) or (C57BL/6 x DBA/2)F1 mice ( J:82809).
